My mom use to cook this type of Kaddu ki Sabzi at my home and I developed great love for the dish as I have a bit Spicy taste,
After I shifted to Delhi for my Job, my mom ones sent this Achari Kaddu with my cousin who came to see me. And he was like… mom has sent Love packed in Box with your all time favorite….and I kind of Guess the Dish…… It’s the amazing and all time favorite Achari Kaddu.
That was a sweet little surprise packet of love covered in spices sent by my mom which left my mouth watery and my heart filled with emotions of love and Home Sickness!!!

All Ingredients We Need to Make Spicy Pumpkin (Kaddu)
- Pumpkin- 1 Bowl (approx 250 grams) (evenly chopped without peeling the cover)
- Green Chilly – 2 Chillies (chopped)
- Jeera (Cumin Seeds)- 1/4 Teaspoon;
- Rai (Mustard Seeds)- 1/4 Teaspoon;
- Methi Seeds (Fenugreek seeds)- 1/4 Teaspoon;
- Kalonji (Nigella)- 1/4 Teaspoon;
- Sauf (Aniseed)- 1/4 Teaspoon;
- Haldi (Turmeric)- 1/4 Teaspoon;
- Red Chilli Powder-1 Teaspoon;
- Amchoor Powder (Dry Mango powder)- 1 Teaspoon;
- Salt – 1 Teaspoon or as per taste.
Preparation time- 10 minutes
Cooking time- 10 minutes
Complete Step by Step Recipe to Make Spicy Pumpkin
- Hear Some Oil in a pan, approximately 3-4 tea spoons;
- Add Jeera, Methi and Rai seeds;
- After that, add Saunf and Kalonji to it and fry;
- Add Haldi Powder;
- Afterwards, add the Pumpkin and mix well;
- Also add Green Chillies, Red Chilli Powder and Salt and mix well;
- Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes;
- In the end, add the amchur powder and cook it for half a minute.
We are absolutely ready with our Home made Spicy Pumpkin.
Serve it HOT!!! either with Paratha or Puree or a plain chapati or Fulka, it fits everywhere.
