How to Make Palak Paratha (पालक पराठा)

Palak (Spinach) is a preferred vegetable if you come to healthy cooking. Although it is really not very tasty, it is its qualities which make it a home-maker’s preference. And the variety of dishes which can be prepared using Palak brings it in the top list of foodies.

What next… All my efforts turned towards how should I cook Palak so that he will not deny eating it. Here comes the idea of Palak Paratha recipe. To my surprise this time the reaction was

“You can make these Parathas every other day, they are amazing”.

and The MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.  😉

You know, Husbands!!! They are weird species with horrible eating habits, far far away from your imagination.Sometimes, they are like ready to eat everything….and  sometimes they will deny eating even their so called favorite dish. Ahhhhh…. let it be!!!

Nutrition Content of Palak (Spinach)

As we have discussed in our earlier post “Shahi Corn Palak” Palak is full of Nutrients. Palak is Excellent Source of-

  • Vitamin A, K, B2, E, and C;
  • Calcium;
  • Potassium;
  • and most importantly Iron.

  3. Palak helps in preventing Cancer;
  4. Palak is also beneficial for maintaining your Blood Pressure to a Normal level as Potassium present in Palak is Important component of cell and body fluids that helps in controlling Blood Pressure and Heart Rate;
  5. Vitamin-A present in Palak is required to maintain healthy skin.

All Ingredients We Need to Make Palak Paratha

Ingredients for Palak Paratha Full Recipe - Dil Bhukkad

  1. Palak- 1 bowl (Thoroughly washed and Finely Chopped);
  2. Flour- 1 bowl
  3. Ginger Garlic Paste- 1 Tea Spoon
  4. Onion- 1 Medium Size (Finely Chopped)
  5. Green Chilli- 2 (Finely Chopped)
  6. Salt- As Per Taste
  7. Red Chilli Powder- 1- 1.5 tea spoon
  8. Sonf- 0.5 (1/2) tea spoon
  9. Amchoor Powder- 0.5 (1/2) tea spoon
  10. Sabut Dhaniya- 0.5 (1/2) tea spoon

This Quantity is enough for preparing 7-8 Parathas, You can vary the ingredients as per your requirements. Also, the spices are used in such a quantity that it makes the parathas average spicy. If you have a spicy taste, you can increase the quantity of spices as per your taste. After-all it’s your Mood and absolutely your food!!

Preparation time- 10 minutes

Cooking time- 10 minutes

Complete Step by Step Process to Make Palak Paratha

  1. Take Flour in a Bowl;
  2. Add Palak (Spinach) to it and mix it well;
  3. Add Ginger-Garlic Paste;
  4. Now Add Finely Chopped Onion and Green Chilli to it.
  5. Now Add Red Chilli Powder, Salt, Amchoor Powder, Sonf and Sabut Dhaniya to the mixture;
  6. Mix them well;
  7. Prepare Dough of the Mixture with the help of water;
  8. Once we are ready with the dough, make medium size dough ball;
  9. Enlarge the same to make paratha;
  10. Bake the Paratha;
  11. Add Desi Ghee or Butter to the Paratha;
  12. Paratha is perfectly ready to be served.Serve it HOT with tomato Ketchup or Tomato Chutney.
