Ye sb itna khaya h na bachpan me…. I guess my mom already knew that methi is very good for health… Otherwise, when I was a kid I use to think maa ye ghaas phuss banaati kyu h…. I mean i didn’t really like when she brings it from the market. 🙄
But ones she started putting it into different kind of combinations…. that was the time I started loving it. And among all… Aalu methi paratha was my favorite. 😛
And that’s the story behind me choosing this dish to be the first post of this Dream Project.
All We Need to Prepare Aloo Methi Paratha
- Boiled Aloo- 4-5 pieces;
- Finally chopped methi leaves- 0.5 bowl
- Finally chopped onion- 1 or 2 onions
- Green chilly – Finally chopped- 3-4 pieces
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1.5 tea spoon
- Hing- a pinch
- Saunf- 1 tea spoon
- Coriander Seeds (Sabut dhaniya)- 0.5 tea spoon
- Amchoor- 1.5 tea spoon
- Red chili powder- 2.5 tea spoon
- Salt- to taste
Preparation time- 10 minutes
Cooking time- 10 minutes
Complete Step by Step Recipe to Prepare Aloo Methi Paratha
- Mix all the ingredients well to get a fine masala mixture;
- Make even sized masala balls for the parathas;
- Take wheat-flour dough (a bit large size dough so as to make a thick base);
- Enlarge the dough into a small sized chapati and put a round masala ball into it;
- Combine the edges all together and allow the masala to settle down;
- Remove the extra portion of the chapati;
- Enlarge the masala-filled dough slowly;
- Bake the paratha on non-stick Tava;
- Add some more ghee or butter to the paratha;
The Paratha is ready to be served. SERVE IT HOT with curd or tomato chutney.
